Drofa Comms conducted a series of interviews with women leaders from various sectors of fintech, including AI-driven platforms, business development, payments, and financial consultancy to understand the current landscape and challenges women face in the traditionally male-dominated industry.
Key insights:
Representation and Bias. Women are still significantly underrepresented in fintech, especially in senior roles, and face bias, being undervalued or underestimated by male colleagues and stakeholders
Mentorship and Networking. Mentorship programs and networking are crucial for career advancement. Women leaders stress the importance of mutual support and shared experiences
Work-Life Balance. Balancing professional and personal life remains a major challenge, particularly for women with families
These insights highlight the importance of ongoing efforts to foster inclusivity and support women in fintech, leading to a more innovative and equitable industry
According to McKinsey & Company, women occupy only 24% of senior vice president roles and 15% of C-suite roles in financial services, compared to 28% and 21% across all industries. Conversely, companies with gender-diverse executive teams are 25% more likely to achieve above-average profitability. In this regard, diversity fosters a variety of management styles and approaches, enriches the decision-making process, and contributes to positive business development. To support this business growth, we have launched the 'Women Leading The Way' initiative, which will help women unlock new opportunities in business and life.”
