There is a thought worth reflecting on: in this world, there are only women and their children.

Everyone else is someone’s child — raised, brought up, and loved by a woman’s hands. Basically, when you look at things that way, most of what humanity has built, achieved, and become, for sure, traces back, in some form, to a mother.

Today is the day we stop and say it out loud.

Women Leading the Way was built around this belief. The women in our community — founders, executives, advisors, builders — are also daughters, mothers, sisters. They carry careers and families, often in the same breath. They lead with strength and care for those around them, doing it without waiting for recognition. 

As our founder and CEO, Valentina Drofa, wrote in her letter to mark International Women's Day this year:

“Every generation of women opens new doors for the next one. Being a mother is part of that work too — it shapes what our children will believe is possible for themselves.”

That is, in many ways, what this day is really about. Flowers and gratitude, though both have their place, say little about the work mothers do — seen and unseen — that holds everything together. This work is exactly what builds families, industries, and futures all at once.

To every woman in our big and vibrant community: we see you, we celebrate you, and we are grateful to share this space with you.
